Welcome

We are delighted to welcome you to the Woodridge Primary School

website!

At Woodridge, we have a diverse, vibrant learning community where expectations and standards are high and children are helped to achieve their best.  Woodridge is a busy, friendly school, where there is always lots going on in our extensive and beautiful grounds and Nature Reserve.  Staff, children, governors and the local community work really hard to provide a secure, nurturing environment where children can become confident, independent learners and succeed in all areas of school life.

Woodridge is a Values Based Education School and our Core Values are: RESPONSIBILITY, RESPECT, HONESTY and KINDNESS. It is expected that the children, the staff and parents support our values.

This website aims to give you a taster of the school, as well as providing regular updated information for both parents and pupils.

We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website, and that you find any information you are looking for. We welcome visits to the school. Please contact the school directly to join us for one of our regular school tours or with any queries you may have.

Thank you for visiting!

Our History

Woodridge Primary School opened in May 1967 to serve the community of Woodside Park and Totteridge. Our name 'Wood-Ridge' is a combination of these two places. A campaign to build the school began in 1962 when local residents wrote to the council because there were not enough places in other local schools. When the school opened in May 1967 there were only 14 pupils. This grew to 148 pupils in September with separate classes for Reception Class, Year 1, 2 and 3 and a mixed class of children from Years 4, 5 and 6. Today, the school has 210 pupils across seven classes. Woodridge was built on former farmland with views across the Totteridge Valley to Mill Hill with the Woodridge Nature Reserve adjoining the school grounds.
