Every parent of a child at Woodridge School is a member of the Woodridge School Association (WSA).
The aim of the WSA is quite simply is to advance the education of pupils in the school, in particular by developing effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the school, and engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which support the school and advance the education of the pupils.
We want to enable parents to become part of the school community and help support the school in any way that they can. For some people this means coming along to one of the many events that the WSA organise, for others it’s helping to organise those events and raise much needed funds.
Everyone is welcomed and everyone has something that they can contribute. You don’t need any particular knowledge or skills and it’s a great way to get to know other parents.
The money the WSA raise helps cover the cost of equipment and activities which are not covered by the school budget. The WSA committee and school staff work closely together to target how money raised is spent, to achieve best value for both the school and pupils.
Past projects have included:
The WSA is run by a committee of parent and teacher volunteers, with the AGM taking place each year on the 1st Thursday in November. Save the date!
Parents' support really makes a difference and without the WSA the children at Woodridge would simply miss out on those experiences and activities which are not covered by the school budget.
We hold three main fundraising events per year - Christmas entertainment for the children, the hugely popular Supper Quiz, and the summer fete. Please come along and support these great events. We aim not only to raise money, but to provide fun times for the whole family! We have smaller fundraising activities throughout the year, and are always looking for new ideas. Please come along to a planning meeting to get involved.
